Alexandra Diana "Alex" Sturman was born in New York City to Diane Schieck, a model and vintage clothing dealer, and Bruce Sturman, a real estate developer. It wasn't until the age of seventeen that Sturman gained a serious interest in acting and made her stage debut in Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew" as Katherine.
