Son of educator William Tiu of Hong Kong, one of the musically gifted and insufferably adorable Tiu children. The others were his sisters Pat, Ginny Tiu, Vicky Tiu and Elizabeth Tiu. Their dad constantly ran afoul of California child labor dept. in his efforts to balance his children's educations with their careers.
