Alyssa Carson (born March 10, 2001), also known by the call sign Blueberry, is an American astronaut trainee who aims to be the first human to go to Mars in 2033.Alyssa first decided at age 3 that she wanted to travel to Mars when she was inspired by the Nickelodeon animated TV show The Backyardigans.She first attended U.S. Space Camp in 2008. She also attended other space camps in Laval, Quebec and in Izmir, Turkey making her the first person to visit all three NASA Space Camps.In 2013, she visited all 14 NASA Visitor Centers in the United States, making her the first person to complete the NASA Passport Program.In October 2016, Alyssa was the youngest person to be accepted and graduate the Advanced Possum Academy, officially making her certified to go to space and an astronaut trainee. She is also the youngest applicant to be accepted into International Space University.
