Antonin Artaud was born on September 4, 1896 in Marseille, Bouches-du-Rhône, France as Antoine Marie Joseph Artaud. He was an actor and writer, known for La passion de Jeanne d'Arc (1928), Lucrèce Borgia (1935) and Graziella (1926). He died on March 4, 1948 in Ivry-sur-Seine, Val-de-Marne, France.
