Balduin Baas was born on June 9, 1922 in Free City of Danzig as Balduin Baaske. He was an actor and writer, known for playing the lead role in Federico Fellini's Prova d'orchestra (1978), for La montagne magique (1982) starring Rod Steiger, as well as for Docteur Faustus (1982) with Jon Finch and Hanns Zischler, Tatort (1970), DM-Killer (1965) and Charly la malice (1995). He was married to Ruth Stephan and he was the longtime spouse of Hamburg photographer Charlotte March. He died on May 22, 2006 in Hamburg, Germany.
