Ben Going grew up in Florida, United States, before settling in Alabama. In 2006, he started posting videos on YouTube under the username "boh3m3", which was one of the most subscribed channels on the site for awhile. Going made video blogs where he related personal anecdotes and gave his opinions on pop culture. He moved to California in 2007 and was credited as a writer on Pastor Shepherd (2010). He moved back to Alabama soon afterwards.
