Claudia Kai (born August 25, 1998) is an actress based in Vancouver, British Columbia. She is of Chinese, Chinese Dai, Vietnamese, and broadly South East Asian descent.Kai was born and raised in Richmond, British Columbia until the age of nine. She then lived in Hong Kong for seven years, studying with a full-ride academic scholarship at the French International School 'Victor Segalen' of Hong Kong. There, she had been a competitive figure skater - skating at a regional level. She had gone up to ISU Level 8, before transitioning into becoming a national-level competitive ice hockey player. She went on to win City Leagues and Championships, represented Hong Kong in tournaments across Asia, and won 'Best Defensive Player' and 'Most Valuable Player' in 2011.In 2014, she moved back to Canada. In 2016, not only did she graduate with academic awards and honors at Kitsilano Secondary School, but made a wave of an impact on the Kitsilano Theatre community as she was a series regular on the school's first ever student-produced, written, directed, acted, and edited television series.She later went on to study primarily psychology and religion at the University of British Columbia with a full-ride academic scholarship.After two years of university and offers that catered towards a successful path in law, she decided to dedicate time on pursuing a childhood dream - being an actress.Outside of acting, Claudia Kai is an avid fan of the outdoors, sports (including ice hockey, figure skating, swimming, dance, yoga, martial arts), reading, film, blogging, and working on her spiritual path. She speaks fluent English and Cantonese, and is proficient in Mandarin and French.
