Dayu Wijanto was born July 21 in Malang, and grew up in Pare, East Java, Indonesia, to Wijanto and Fenawati, who owned a family business. Among families who love art and sports, Dayu grow and have achievements in both areas. In Elemetary School, Dayu won numerous writing competitions, even at International level. She became interested in acting while watching her movie freak Grandfather, that every day watching all kinds of movies. She was also very accomplished in the sports. Her mother gives much influence to entered basketball. Dayu name listed as one of the Indonesian National basketball player.Eldest of three sibling (Mellya Wijanto/sister and Budiono Wijanto/brother) graduated from Law School - Christian University of Indonesia. Then continuing her studies at New York University. Dayu even had work on the Whole Food Market while living in New York. Her life journey also brings her to stay in Munich, Germany for a while to get aircraft training when she work under B.J.Habibie, that when it was still minister of research and technology.Back to Indonesia in 2004, Dayu decided to work in Harper's Bazaar and Hello! Indonesia magazine, a large media company under MRA Group. But it was while working as a Managing Editor at Hello magazine that she realized her true calling. Her first film role was Arisan! 2, then continues appeared in several TV series, FTV, advertising and other small roles in films. She gave an outstanding performance in 'Selamat Pagi, Malam' (2013) as Ci Surya, in which she gave a heart-wrenching portrayal of a widow. Her role also earned high praise. She went on to win 2014 Best Actress by Tempo magazine. She is also listed as a nominee for Best New Comer in 2014 Piala Maya. Despite appears briefly, Dayu also gained praise for her role as Dahlia in 'Bulan Di Atas Kuburan' (2014).A perfectionist in her craft and meticulous and painstaking in her preparation for her roles, Dayu listed as one of the best actresses. Some of her new film will be released in 2015, such as 'Iseng', where dayu potray irritable restaurant owner. Several other new film are still in the process of shooting.
