Dickson was born to Richard and Jan McGuire in Durango, CO on May 30, 1975. He was raised in Durango until the age of 5 when his family moved to Denver, CO. Dickson was an ALL-State Basketball player as a senior in high school. Dickson attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City where he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1999. Dickson married Sara Greener in 1998 and the couple had a daughter, Maddy, in 2001. He practiced general dentistry in the U.S. Navy from 1999-2003 where he served the Marines in Camp Pendleton, CA. Dickson studied at Indiana University from 2003-2005 where he was awarded a Master's of Science in Dentistry (MSD) and a Certificate in Endodontics. He maintains a private practice limited to endodontics in Austin, TX. Dickson's interest in Film led to his first acting role in Infinity Baby 2017 directed by Bob Byington.
