Biography
Doug Friedman
Born in Hollywood. Grew up in a house previously owned by Joseph Calleia, a movie actor from 1930-1950 known for playing cops and gangsters. Went to the same high school as Joan Jett. Lived in the same neighborhood as Bud Abbott, Lou Costello, Lee J. Cobb, Herb Vigran, and Peter Mark Richman. Started making films in high school in classes taught by Herman Jay. Took acting and vocal classes with Kathy Dunn. Has a college degree in art. Plays guitar and writes songs. Worked in restaurants, gas stations, delivered newspapers, laid carpet, painted houses, and taught high school. Appeared as a detective who wrongly helps convict a small time hood in the BET series Vindicated. Played off-duty Detective Ed Kislo in a recreation of the night Det. Kislo was shot and killed when he investigated an intruder in his neighbor's yard. Played in over thirty short films. Produced "Peace Out" music video and "The Maltese Tuna" starring Santana Cat. Member of SAG-AFTRA since 2012.
