Born in Rome, Italy, in 1966. he has a BSc in Psychology. He has worked as a journalist and photographer concentrating on rock music and travel, he has spent many years in Asia. He later moved onto working as a director, writer, cinematographer, cameraman and producer.His acting debut won him the 1996 Nanni Moretti's Sacher Festival Award for best leading actor. In 1999 he founded the independent production company Alberto Molinari and Francesco Struffi. He is also a songwriter, novelist and writer of guidebooks about sustainable tourism.
