Giuseppe Calandriello was born on June 29, 1979, in Pietrasanta, Tuscany, Italy. He graduated from the University of Pisa with a degree in cinema, music, and theater. He worked as an assistant director on several movies. In 2006, he wrote and directed the documentary Un parere sul cinema - videointervista a Luca Barbareschi (2006) starring the director and producer Luca Barbareschi. After being the director and screenwriter of several short movies, he made his debut in the cinema writing the story and screenplay of Anja (2020) and of the short movie La reliquia (2020).
