Gordon was born in Dundee, Scotland and grew up in Douglas (a housing scheme in the east end of the city). He was schooled at Whitfield Primary, Powrie Primary and Craigie High. He had no notion of being an actor until meeting a friend who had trained alongside him as a bricklayer and was now training to be an actor. His friend introduced him to the acting scene in Dundee and within a few weeks he was a member of Dundee Rep community theatre and had applied for Dundee College Theatre Arts course. He was accepted onto the course and loved every minute of the training he received. In 1999 he gained a place at the prestigious Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland). Three years in Glasgow, surrounded by some of the most amazing talent and being taught by some of the best acting teachers in the world really opened his eyes to the opportunities that were out there and in 2002 he graduated with a BA in acting. Since graduating from RSAMD he has managed to get parts in, Taggart, Sea Of Souls, Bob Servant etc. never a main character but always doing something to move the story along in each show. 2017 seems to have brought about a sea change in Gordon's career and he is set to appear in the new AMC series The Terror, playing the character John Weekes, which has a worldwide release later this year. It just goes to show, if you stick in there then good things will happen! Never give up and always keep on chipping away.
