Gregory Nye is one of five children. He was born in Harve de Grace Maryland. His mother Dorothea was a stay at home mom and father Lloyd was an aircraft/aeronautical engineer who worked on government contracted projects in many states during the family's early years. They eventually settled in Brownsville Texas when Gregory was in the 5th grade. He attended the University of Texas and had a successful first career in firefighting and law enforcement for the city of Austin before beginning his acting career. He resides (as of 2015) most of the year in New Mexico with his wife Marlene.
