Ivan Malekin is an award-winning Australian producer, director and editor. His films have screened and won awards both locally and internationally.His sophomore feature, the completely improvised 'Friends, Foes & Fireworks', co-produced and co-director with his wife Sarah Jayne and shot in a single night on New Year's Eve, is available on Amazon Prime and select DVD retailers. 'Choir Girl', his third feature as a producer and the debut of John Fraser as director, is currently doing the festival circuit. Ivan has also completed production on his fourth feature, 'In Corpore', filming in Melbourne, Malta, New York and Berlin. He once again teamed with Sarah Jayne to co-produce and co-direct the improvised drama about relationships and betrayal.As the founder and director of the Made In Melbourne Film Festival since 2009 to 2016, Ivan was heavily involved in the Melbourne film community. In 2014 he was added to the Master List of Melbourne Independent Filmmakers compiled by veteran indie movie-maker Bill Mousoulis, and also selected for the 'Top 50 Australian Independent Film Heroes' list. Ivan now resides in Malta where he runs the prolific independent film collective Nexus Production Group.
