John graduated from Northport High School and then Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York, where he majored in Communications. He landed a job working in the mailroom of a talent agency's literary department where he wrote screenplays during his downtime. He sold his first screenplay, a small scale horror movie Fear of the Dark (2003), to Wishbone Films, in 2001.In 2002 he landed larger deals at Columbia Pictures and Dimension Films where he currently works under contract. He currently resides in New York where he continues to work on new projects.
