Kal was an editorial photographer and studied cinematography with Billy Williams, BSC, before he turned to acting and script consulting.He wrote and directed The Gift [aka The Birthday] which received nominations for Best International Short at Austin and Florida, and won a TCM Turner Classics Special Jury Prize in London.His script Stones won a Best Screenplay prize at Rhode Island, and was a Semi-Finalist in the Page Awards. His screenplay 'Wanting' was a semi-finalist in Final Draft's 'Big Break' Contest.Kal wrote, directed and co-produced Carousel, receiving nominations for The Crystal Bear at Berlin, Main Prize in the Oberhausen, Best Short at Edinburgh, and Best European Short at Brest.He lives in London.
