Kent is a native of Detroit who began his career as an actor. Before taking up writing, he toured for several years throughout Europe and received raves for his portrayal of 'Berger' in the musical "Hair". He went on to write, direct, edit, and act in his first feature film "Fish In A Barrel", for which he won Best Directorial Debut and Best Original Screenplay at the New York Independent Film Festival.
