Born in New York City and raised in the East Bronx, Laurie Mitchell moved with her family to California while in her teens. Acting school led to stage roles and then to movie assignments, beginning with 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954). Long-retired and now the wife of a medical salesman, she has recently been "rediscovered" by her fans and has begun making the celebrity expo and autograph show rounds.
