Maren Rose McGuire was born on September 12, in Marin County, California to parents Shelley and Doug McGuire. Maren was raised on a 20 acre farm in Kings Valley, Oregon with her younger brother, Cody McGuire. Doug McGuire was a roadie for Jefferson Starship. Shelley McGuire was a seamstress for the band; some of her designs can be seen on the cover of Jefferson Starship albums. Maren attended the Portland Actors Conservatory two year program, after which she worked in independent films such as How the Fire Fell, Welcoming Departure, and Stripperland. In 2012 she appeared in City Baby in an amusing performance as a VJ interviewing Stephen Malkmus of Pavement, as quoted by the Hollywood Reporter.Most recently she can be seen on the hit TV show, Community.
