Meredith Braun was born in 1973 in Auckland, New Zealand. She began appearing on stage and screen at age five. Meredith earned a place at London's prestigious Italia Conti Stage College in 1989. She got the first of many acting roles on West End at age seventeen. Her film appearances include The Haunting of Barney Palmer (1987) and The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992). After Les Miserables and Sunset Boulevard, she starred as Christine in "The Phantom of the Opera". She began her West End career six months later with a lead role in short-lived musical Bernadette at the Dominion Theatre.
