Biography
Mike Nadajewski
Mike has been a professional actor for over 20 years, appearing in major Canadian (and a few American) theatres along the way. He has spent the majority of his career playing leading and featured roles in North America's largest classical theatre festivals: nine seasons at the Stratford Festival, including: Peter Sellars' daring "A Midsummer Night's Dream: A Chamber Play", Mr. Tumnus in "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe", Ernst Heinrich Ernesti (Einstein) in "The Physicists", Painter in Timon of Athens (2018), directed by Stephen Ouimette, Osric in Hamlet (2016) (both seen in Cinemas across North America), Man #2 in "Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris" opposite Brent Carver, and Des McAnuff's productions of "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" (also with Mirvish Productions at the Ed Mirvish Theatre), and "Jesus Christ Superstar" (also at the La Jolla Playhouse in California and on Broadway at the Neil Simon Theatre). Five seasons at the Shaw Festival, including: Lord Fancourt Babberley in "Charley's Aunt" (directed by Tim Carroll), Mycroft in "Sherlock Holmes and the Raven's Curse", Jeff in "Brigadoon", Kostya in "The Russian Play", and Hannibal in "Happy End". He is co-founder of Barrie, Ontario's Talk Is Free Theatre, appearing in numerous productions since its 2002 inception, including the double bill "Herringbone" and "The Yalta Game", "One Night Stand", and the title roles in "Candide" and "Sunday in the Park with George". Other highlights include Man in Chair in "The Drowsy Chaperone" (Drayton Entertainment), Antony in John Patrick Shanley's "Outside Mullingar", the Emcee in "Cabaret" (Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre); and the Canadian premiere of "Peter and the Starcatcher" (Western Canada Theatre). Also, many productions with the Canadian Stage Company, National Arts Centre, Theatre Aquarius, and Charlottetown Festival. Film/TV credits include Murdoch Mysteries, Private Eyes, Kim's Convenience (2016), as well as the animated film Gracie & Pedro. Mike trained at the Stratford Birmingham Conservatory for Classical Theatre under its artistic director Martha Henry. He lives in Stratford, Ontario, with his wife, actor Glynis Ranney, and their son.
