Born in Montreal, Quebec, Nahanni's first love was horses and she wanted to be a jockey, but by the time she was 10 she was too tall. She was scouted by a modeling agency on a trip to Paris and spent 3 years working in Paris and Milan, notably as muse to photographer Guy Bourdin for Paris Vogue. After her first appearance in a film which screened at the Venice festival, she moved to New York to study acting, training first with Walt Witcover, and then The Barrow Group. She was also mentored in directing and play writing by Curt Dempster at Ensemble Studio Theatre. She has a varied career in theatre, television and film, and works in both New York and Toronto Canada, where she also coaches actors and writers at LB Acting Studio. She has 2 children and is married to Stunt Coordinator Steve Lucescu
