He had an electrifying debut Investec Super Rugby season that year, which had followed an impressive Maori All Blacks debut on the end of year tour to Japan in 2014 - and he was named in the All Blacks squad. He went on to star at Rugby World Cup 2015. He has been unlucky with injury and faced a race to be fit to take on the British & Irish Lions after his 2017 Investec Super Rugby campaign with the Hurricanes was cut short after two games. As a teenager, Milner-Skudder had a stint playing rugby league that included a title with the Bulldogs Under 20 side. Milner-Skudder has two All Blacks relatives: his cousin Buff Milner and uncle George Skudder played a Test in 1969 and 1970 respectively.
