Nico Martinez has been building a body of work as a character actor in both Film and TV. She won the coveted Telly Award for her work with Cuban Filmmaker Jorge Ulla in 1996 for Best Television Campaign. In addition, she has been crossing over into the world of writing and directing. Her film "La Maestra" won the best dramatic film award for "Peeksill Film Festival" as well as screened at the " Latino Film Festival" in Peekskill and "Film Fest 52" in Bethel. Her next venture will be a dramatic series she wrote called 'The Islanders"..The series shows the Latina immigrant experience in Long Island, and will strive to offer the Latino market a hip and sexy show that will speak to several generations of Latinos.
