Osamah Sami is an Australian actor, writer, director, poet and stand up comedian, born in war-torn Iran to Iraqi parents.His critically acclaimed memoir Good Muslim Boy was the Winner of the NSW Premier's Literary Award, and was also Highly Commended at the Victorian Premier's Literary Awards.His film, Ali's Wedding, which he co-wrote and also starred in, was the Winner for the Australian Writers Guild Award (AWGIE) for Best Original Feature.In 2016, his work in Melbourne Theatre Company's I Call My Brothers earned him a Green Room Award nomination for Best Lead Actor.The same year, the web series he co-created and starred in, Two Refugees and a Blonde, was nominated for Best Comedy Series at the L.A Webfest.Osamah is also recognized as a 'notable Australian Muslim' by the Commonwealth of Australia.
