Paz Bascuñan was born June 2nd 1975 in Santiago de Chile. Daughter of politicians Carlos Bascuñán Edwards and Mariana Aylwin Oyarzún, and granddaughter of former chilean president Patricio Aylwin, Paz started acting at an early age with minor roles in movies, but her big break came when she starred in the soap opera Piel canela (2001) with her then boyfriend, Benjamín Vicuña. The soap opera did not get good reviews or good ratings, but people wanted to know who she was. She received many offers from the two biggest channels in Chile, but in the end she opted for TVN. In her free time Paz loves to dance and go out with friends. She married producer 'Miguel Asensio (II)' on April 26, 2008 and they have 2 children.
