Biography
Ralph Kretschmar
German Film Academy Actor Ralph Kretschmar was born in Berlin, East Germany. He graduated from "Pierre de Coubertin" (Berlin), one of the best physical education college in Germany. He was a competitive swimmer, later a full-time basketball player before becoming an actor. Ralph appeared in a number of popular German films and shows, before landing a significant role in the popular German crime series Küstenwache (1997) in 2004. He starred in nearly 70 episodes, shown European-wide. After leaving the series by his own will in 2008, he took a memorable turn as an LSD & Cocain addict in Little Paris (2008), as a basketball star in Hangtime - Kein leichtes Spiel (2009), produced by Sönke Wortmann and as a lost student in the Oscar® Nominated feature film Der Baader Meinhof Komplex (2008). In 2011, after a big audition marathon, Ralph played the part of Streetdancer Martin in Sony Pictures Entertainment's Beat the World (2011) of Stomp the Yard (2007) writer Robert Adetuyi. Most recently, US-Director Matthew Mishory signed Ralph for his upcoming feature film Portland. Ralph is about to play the rough and edgy part of 25 years old Stark.
