Richard Oppenlander
Dr. Richard Oppenlander is a well-known activist, lecturer and author. He has written two books on the impact food choice has on the environment, biodiversity, global warming, water scarcity, our health, world hunger, and the cruelty inherent in all types of animal agriculture. His first book, "Comfortably Unaware" won Eric Hoffer's 2012 Montaigne Award. His second book, Food Choice and Sustainability" takes a more in-depth report and won the 2014 International Book Awards and the 2014 Green Book Festival Award. He is the founder of Ope's, a vegan food company, and the non-profit "Inspire Aweness Now" He and his wife run a farm sanctuary in Michigan.
