Richard Quan started as an image model for blue soda clothing company. He did several television commercial before venturing into acting. He won Best New Actor in his first film Saan Ka Man Naroroon, directed by Carlitos Siguion-Reyna in 1994. He started theater acting in 1995. Some of his theater plays credit are : Ang Paglilitis ni Bonifacio, as Andres Bonifacio... Noli me Tangere as Crisotomo Ibarra. After several acting nominations, he won again a Best Supporting Actor award for his film 1957, directed by Hubert Tibi, under ToFarm Film Festival in 2018.
