Robert Rhine
Biography
Robert Rhine
Robert Rhine is a fourth generation Californian and the son of TV writer Larry Rhine (All In The Family, Bob Hope, Red Skeleton) and comedic TV and film actress Hazel Shermet (A Star Is Born, Love At First Bite). Both were recorded by The Archive of American Television. A massive head injury and skull fracture clinically killed Robert Rhine when he was ten years old in a freak accident but he was revived and survived to become a dark fiction writer fascinated with the subject of death. In 2002, Robert Steven Rhine (aka Corpsy) became the Founder/Publisher and Deaditor-In-Chief of Girls and Corpses, a worldwide newsstand magazine featured on such media as: Entertainment Tonight, TMZ, Inside Edition, Entertainment Weekly, Maxim, E-News, Bizarre, VICE, Oddities, worldwide newspapers and hundreds of web news sites. In 2015, famed music producer Kim Fowley (The Runaways) passed away and bequeathed his body to Girls and Corpses Magazine to be put on the cover as his last wishes -- which were met. Robert "Corpsy" Rhine is a partner in TomCat Films, a worldwide film distribution company, under the Girls and Corpses Presents banner. A series of short vignettes (ala Tales Of The Crypt) were filmed with Corpsy and former adult superstar/producer Tera Patrick. First releases under the Girls and Corpses Presents label were Blood Rites and The Meat Puppet. As an actor, Rhine has been killed in 20 indie horror films and is going for the record. These aren't only death scenes, as Rhine has starred or co-starred in many of the films as well. Rhine portrayed Rod Serling on The Twlight Tower of Terror Ride directed by Joe Dante for Disney Orlando Florida. Rhine has had two books published, "My Brain Escapes Me"(Sun Dog Press) and "Satan's 3-Ring Circus of Hell" (Asylum Press). He has sold fiction to over one hundred magazines and published anthologies, including the Bram Stoker award winning "Dark Delicacies"(Carroll & Graf) alongside Ray Bradbury and Clive Barker. R.S. Rhine has been a contributing writer for Heavy Metal Magazine, Cracked, National Lampoon and others. Rhine's first comic book, "Selected Readings From Satan's Powder Room" (Asylum Press) was followed up by a second helping titled "Chicken Soup For Satan." A third comic book in Rhine's series, "Satan Gone Wild" led to Rhine's 280 page, color graphic novel "Satan's 3-Ring Circus of Hell." Forty-three of the top horror artists in the world (such as William Stout, Tim Vigil, Hilary Barta and Alan M. Clark) contributed to the book, illustrating over forty twisted R.S. Rhine tales. Rhine worked for a decade as a Unit Publicist for Universal Studios, TriStar/Columbia, Dreamworks and Imagine Entertainment on such features as: The Craft, Hush, Tremors, Problem Child, Double-Team, Mousehunt and Toy Soldiers. He's worked as an entertainment publicist, book publicist, film advertising copywriter, segment producer for PM Magazine and also worked for CNN.
