Scott S. Thomas (born October 8, 1954) is the middle of 3 sons born to Bud and Connie Thomas in Preston, Idaho. He started his performing career during high school in his band The Shedde, which completed a reunion tour in 2012. Scott attended Brigham Young University for a year before serving a two-year religious mission in Australia where he befriended surfers and koalas. After returning home, Scott graduated, married, and became a father. Scott continued his education at BYU, earning a law degree in 1982 without hardly having to attend class. Upon graduating, Scott and his family moved to Southern California where they spent 20 years before returning to their roots in Preston, Idaho, home of Napoelon Dynamite. Scott continues work in Orange County, California and Las Vegas, Nevada, regularly returning home to Preston.Despite being part of one of the most iconic movies of the 21st century, Scott is most well known for his work in insurance litigation. He has been named a California Super Lawyer since 2004 and travels around the country educating on construction defect issues relating to insurance. Scott is the good kind of lawyer, working to get insurance companies to make good on their policies for his clients. He continues to get recognized for his role as Trish's father in Napoleon Dynamite.
