Long before Sonja Morgan became a household name from her television appearances, she was a mover and shaker among New York City high rollers and international jet setters. Sonja is best known for setting the bar high for hilarious entertainment and affordable luxurious designs such as her Sonja Morgan New York collection which was unveiled in the summer of 2015. The collection currently features women's clothing ranging from practical yet fabulous sportswear and swimwear to elegant and luxurious gowns and jewelry. Sonja was born on November 25th in Albany, New York. Sonja quickly outgrew her small town environment and moved on to New York City to chase her dreams. Sonja soon after became a successful model and while her home base was in New York she worked in California, Colorado, Italy, and France. Sonja has been working in the fashion industry her entire life. She studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, New York from 1982 to 1985. After pursuing fashion retailing on Upper West Side and wholesale in New York's Garment District, Sonja became a restaurant/hotel and luxury brand consultant for top establishments across the country. Whether representing an Italian custom tailor or consulting a new hot spot for Donald Trump, Sonja was the go to "it girl." Sonja later expanded her business expertise into the entertainment industry producing films such as The Marsh in 2006, which stared Oscar winning actor Forest Whitaker. The producer then went on to appear in front of the camera on shows such as the Real Housewives of New York City and behind the mic in her podcast Sonja in the City. Sonja has since made memorable appearances on shows such as Watch What Happens L!ve, Million Dollar Listing NY, The Millionaire Matchmaker, and Rachel Ray's 30 minute meals. Sonja was married to John Adams Morgan, grandson of J.P. Morgan and John Adams, in 1998 and had their daughter in October of 2000. Sonja now expertly juggles being a mother to her daughter, and continuing her career in the fashion and entertainment industries.
