Sophie Kim is an American television actress from Los Altos, California. Sophie was born on July 10, 2006 in Chicago, Illinois. She was diagnosed with Ullrich Congenital Muscular Dystrophy at the age of two and has been a wheelchair user since the age of four. Sophie, who had no previous professional acting experience, was discovered as the result of a worldwide casting call by Netflix seeking an actress for the series regular role of Amara in the upcoming Netflix original series The Healing Powers of Dude. Sophie was cast as Amara and now costars in the series.
