Biography
Stewart Wright
Stewart Alec Weatherley Wright was born on January 12 1974 to two doctors. He attended Bedford College, where his prowess at rugby earned him a place in the England Under 18s reserves but this was cut short by injury and he turned instead to acting, graduating from the Central School of Speech and Drama with a BA in 1996. The following year he made his big screen debut in 'Fierce Creatures' and has played several small roles in films since though to television viewers he is probably best known for playing two nice but dim Cornish policemen in the sitcom 'The Wild West' and comedy-drama 'Doc Martin'. As well as appearing on stage with the Bristol Old Vic and the National he is a talented writer and was commissioned by BBC Radio 4 to write a series of short comedies, later collaborating with Will Adamsdale for the sitcom 'The Aussies'. He has also been instrumental in setting up an improvisational theatre group and co-creating a one man contemporary clown show.
