Todd grew up in Whitecourt, Alberta, Canada. The son of Anne Ford and Alphonsus Hann, he began performing at an early age. In 1987, his family moved to Newfoundland, where he began his acting career doing community theater in St. John's. In 1997, he moved to Calgary, Alberta. Todd has appeared in numerous independent films, and his television debut was an episode of Disney's Honey, I Shrunk the Kids: The TV Show (1997) in 1999. He made his big screen debut in 2001 appearing in Coil (2001) and Anthrax (2001). In 2002, Todd moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, where he began studying with Mel Tuck, a well-known Canadian acting instructor.
