After spending 12 years as a professional firefighter/paramedic on the east coast, Tom Ferda chased his film/TV dream to the west coast where he is the EVP of Production & Development at Flying Ape Productions in Los Angeles, specializing in comedy and horror.Originally from Detroit, he has dual Italian and American citizenship and passports and hopes to shoot a film in Italy some day, his heritage country where he and his wife lived the entire summer of 2019.Between his firefighting and film production careers, Ferda also had a five-year stint as a pro sportswriter, covering the NFL, MLB, NHL and NBA; inking features for the New York Daily News, Washington Times, Atlanta Thrashers, Atlanta hawks, Detroit Free Press, The Hockey News (Toronto), and San Fran Examiner.
