Tan Twan Eng's first novel, The Gift of Rain, was longlisted for the Man Booker Prize.His latest novel is The Garden of Evening Mists, shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize 2012. It won the Man Asian Literary Prize in 2013. It also won the Walter Scott Prize in 2013, from a shortlist of authors which included Hilary Mantel, Rose Tremain, Thomas Keneally and Pat Barker. It was also shortlisted for the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award in 2014.His novels have been translated into more than 15 languages, including German, French, Russian, Estonian, Italian, Serbian, Spanish, Dutch, Polish, Hungarian, Macedonian, Taiwanese Chinese, Thai, Arabic, Indonesian, Korean and Lithuanian.
