Vanessa Wenzel is a born and raised Calgarian with a BA in Film Studies & Drama Minor with distinction from the University of Calgary. After graduation, Vanessa founded Prairie Kitten Productions, alongside several other graduates, in order to produce films written and directed by Albertan women. She has been part of many indie and commercial projects (shorts, features, and web-series) around southern Alberta. Her directing credits include Escapism (2019), Auryon (2017), The Weather (2018), Snowshoe & Monster Ep. 1 (2017), and The Stand Up (2019). She is a camera assistant with the International Cinematographer's Guild 669 and has worked in camera departments on Heartland (S12), Tin Star (S2), Jann (S1), and more. As an actor, she is represented by Dagaz Talent in Calgary, AB.
