A member of the mercenary Ginyu Force squadron, Captain Ginyu is the team's leader and a master trickster. Being a purple-skinned alien in appearance, he is best described as a body snatcher. Captain Ginyu is surpassed by Goku when being faced by the Saiyan on Planet Namek. Due to this, he attempts to perform his body switch technique in order to take over Goku's body. He later attempts this once again only to find himself trapped in the body of a frog. Any attempts at switching bodies go haywire for Ginyu after this point as he fails to collect the Dragon Balls and retrieve them for Frieza.
