Kevin Lynch is an analyst with the FBI in Quantico, VA. He dates Penelope Garcia, the BAU's analyst. He is often seen with Garcia in between cases and has assisted her in several. They originally met when he was asked to cover her position after Garcia was nearly killed by an unsub. He later works with her via their computers to identify and bring down the man who attempted to kill her. Their relationship formally begins shortly thereafter. He is the consummate nerd and a perfect boyfriend for Garcia. At one point he applies to a secret project overseas. He tells Garcia about it as he is embarking on his final interview. Garcia snoops around trying to find out more about the project. Her actions are detected and lead to the cancellation of the project. She inadvertently admits she was snooping to Kevin when he arrives to tell her that he didn't get the job. They then both admit that they belong together and Garcia cannot leave the BAU as they are her family.
