Laura Hellinger is a captain in the army who takes her accused rapist to civil court when there is insufficient evidence to bring a case in criminal court. Judge Kuhn asks Alicia Florrick to assist Laura with her case against a civilian contractor for the alleged rape while Laura was stationed in Afghanistan. Laura is a lawyer and she ends up becoming friends with Alicia.
