Maricruz Delgado is the on-again off-again girlfriend of inmate Fernando Sucre, who is sentenced to Fox River State Penitentiary after a failed robbery attempt to get enough money to buy her an engagement ring. While he is inside, Sucre's cousin Hector makes repeated advances toward Maricruz and it is Sucre's fear that she will leave him that spurs him to join Michael Scofield's escape and become one of the Fox River Eight.She has a sister named Theresa who helps Sucre try to win her back.
