Nell Potter is the aunt of Lana Lang. Nell was Lana's guardian from the time that Lana's parents died when Lana was three years old until her sophomore year. At that time, Nell re-married and moved to Metropolis, leaving Lana to live with Chloe Sullivan her junior year and in the Talon apartment her senior year. Nell would often tell Lana about her parents since Lana can hardly remember them since they died when she was so young. Nell presumably still lives with her husband in Metropolis. She re-visited the town for the first time in three years when she attended Lana's wedding to Lex Luthor. It is shown in the pilot that she fancied Jonathan Kent by the way she looked hopefull when he walked into the flower shop and was disapointed when she saw Martha.
