Last surviving member of the house Hollard, an exiled house, Dontos owes his life to Beristan Selmy who took him to Kings Landing as a child to serve as a squire rather than put him to the sword. He is an invariable drunk, stripped of his knighthood by King Joffrey and was again spared his life this time by the intervention of Sansa Stark who suggested living his life out as a fool would be a worse punishment than death. It is tragically and ironically as a fool that he will finally succumb to the Game of Thrones smuggling Sansa Stark out of Maegor's hold fast for Littlefinger.
