After practicing as lawyer-lobbyist on Washington, DC's "K Street" for seven years, Akilah moved across the country to Los Angeles to become a TV and film writer. Akilah has written for Chelsea Handler's late night show on Netflix, Chelsea (2016-2017), as well as Kevin Hart's Hartbeat Productions. Akilah is originally from Houston, Texas.
