(On similarities between herself and her character "Linda" on Better Off Ted (2009)): I think I have similar characteristics to "Linda" and it's also a really interesting thing. I think this is the first time I've ever experienced a situation where, because of my friendship with the writers, they write things that I have commented on or things that I've said and that just really great because I joke with them, I go "You don't know me", but it's just a really cool thing to have them incorporate something that you would talk about. I think it's a neat relationship that's happening.

(On how she relates to her Better Off Ted (2009) character): I know what it's like to have a crush on someone you're not supposed to have a crush on. And I know what it's like to work in an office and not want to work in an office. I understand that for sure.

(On what drew her to take the role as "Linda" on Better Off Ted (2009)): Actually, to be honest, I'd been getting close to getting a job for approximately a month and this one got thrown into the mix and I really wanted this one. I love this character. I'm also crazy about Victor Fresco.

On doing Drama vs Sitcom: Most of my training at graduate school was geared towards drama, so I feel good about it, and I can do it, but it requires a lot more work from me. I feel like with drama...well, with all acting, really, you need to honor the truth of the situation. And when you're honoring someone's devastation, it's important to me to hit the mark, to get it right. For some reason, comedy just comes easily to me, and I feel like I can do it. I don't have any doubt. When I work on drama, there's always a sense of 'Did I find this person's truth at the bottom of this?' And it's hard to tell sometimes.

On doing television: I absolutely love it. And I'm ridiculously fortunate to get a chance to experience the sitcom world. The schedule is extremely easy, and you get fed as an artist because you're not only working on a project, but you get to work with cameras and you get the audience there. It was difficult to see Joey (2004) go away, but the experience was a blast to me. If our call time was 10 a.m., then I'd get there at 6 a.m. and just hang out. I just love being welcomed onto a lot to go do your job. Every day you see the security guards, and you think, "Oh, this is so wonderful!"

On early acting success: I got too big for my britches. I stopped learning and acquired a really stupid 'tough' attitude. By the time I graduated, I was overweight, smoking, drinking and I had become a really terrible actress.

When I was on Joey (2004), I started coming in immediately in the morning and looking at the ratings until, after about six months, I completely gave the whole thing up, because it occurred to me that it really didn't matter. There are so many things that can go right and so many things that can go wrong that have nothing to do with me that my attitude is: "You know what? I'm going to come in (to work) until you tell me not to".
