I'm trying to raise the awareness of the troops that, when they deploy and go to war, it's not just them at war - it's also their family. Their family is having to go through all the hardships and the stresses.

He was a writer and producer, known for American Sniper (2014), Stars Earn Stripes (2012) and The Real American Sniper (2015). He was married to Taya Kyle. He died on February 2, 2013 in Glen Rose, Somervell County, Texas.
