She is of Italian (from her paternal grandfather), Irish, and some English, ancestry.Pompeo made her major studio screen debut in Brad Silberling's Moonlight Mile (2002), starring alongside Susan Sarandon, Dustin Hoffman and Jake Gyllenhaal.
