Jase (Jason Whitaker) is an American actor, writer, and model. Even though he began performing (classical and jazz piano) at age 12, Jase got his first paid professional job as a dancer in American Ballet Theater's Giselle directly after finishing high school and later enrolled in Washington, D.C.'s famed Studio Theater Conservatory. Often the class clown, Jason began performing in professional plays while still in high school, as his parents wanted him to push himself beyond his comfort zone and learn from much older and more competitive peers...and learn discipline.After much encouragement from the university theater staff, Jase took the blessing of his university professors and left George Mason University (where he also wrote for the university paper and took graduate level History and Advanced Screenwriting courses as an Underclassman), a few credits short of a BFA to relocate to Los Angeles and focus on acting full time.After a short stint in celebrity and fashion public relations, he fully invested in acting in 2011, when we gained recognition as a lead in the 2011 Hollywood Fringe Festival production 'Eavesdropper', in which he wowed audiences in his portrayal of an unstable gay man who's boyfriend has died of AIDS. This role soon led to small featured roles on shows such as Comedy Central's Key & Peele and Community, which soon led to a recurring role on the hit comedy series, Baby Daddy.In early 2016, Jase presented his first ever original television series to Freeform (formerly ABC Family), the same network that cast him on Baby Daddy, based on his experiences when he first moved to Los Angeles. The day following his first meeting, he was granted an "open door pitch policy" with the network. By winter 2016, his second ever concept was optioned and he has continued to build from there.With the all the positive momentum he has created with his writing, he also continues to use the opportunity to fill more demanding roles while also continuing to create is own, original content. Jase is definitely someone to keep an eye out for--he is set for a very successful and exciting career.
